Course: Nutrition and Dietetics

Nutrition and Dietetics are the science and practice of understanding the relationship between food, nutrition, health, and well-being. They consider how the body absorbs, metabolizes, and utilizes nutrients from food and the effects of different dietary choices on physical and mental health. On the other hand, dietetics emphasizes the practical application of this knowledge in creating, implementing, and managing nutritional programs and diets for individuals and communities that promote good health and control the effects of diseases. 

The field covers the study of nutrients, how the body utilizes them, the association between diet and health and diseases, and dietary needs for optimal health. Dietetics: The application of nutrition knowledge in a variety of clinical settings as dietitians work with individuals and groups to assess, diagnose, and treat dietary and nutritional issues through individualized meal plans and nutritional therapies. Nutrition and Dietetics professionals often work in a variety of settings from hospitals and clinics to public health organizations, the food industry, research institutions, and private practice to promote better health through nutrition.
