Course: Chartered Financial Analyst
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is a world-renowned professional certification given by the CFA Institute to investment and finance professionals. The CFA program comprises three levels, with each level addressing different areas: Level I addresses basic knowledge and the ethical standards governing the maintenance of that knowledge; Level II emphasizes asset valuation and complex analysis; and Level III emphasizes portfolio management and the synthesis of all the knowledge gained. In terms of the examination format, how the test is done for each level varies: for Level I, questions are multiple-choice; Level II utilizes item sets; and Level III is composed of essay-style and item-set questions.
Candidates who must hold at least some equivalent degree or qualification, or a certain period of experience in any field can qualify; they must comply with the ethical standards of the Institute. Each level requires approximately 300 hours of study, excluding the costs of any study materials and exam fees. The CFA designation truly is a global passport that significantly enhances career opportunities in finance and investment management.
